WestMET was established in May of 2023, formed from the 170 year old coal company – Westmoreland Mining. The name WestMET comes from this initial origin and the MET stands for M-minerals, E-energy, T-technology and ERS represents E-earth, R-reclamation, S-services.
WestMET ERS is a team of professionals with expertise in environmental and engineering projects in a variety of sectors. We are always striving to expand and share our commitment to sustainable development and reclamation.
WestMET ERS continues to advance reclamation throughout Alberta, including at our active humalite mine site south of Hanna, Alberta. We have a vision to become the supplier of choice in mine site and industrial reclamation in Western and Northern Canada. We believe the experience and learnings from working in Alberta can be applied to neighboring provinces and territories.
