Project
Pace Canada LP is developing a 12.5 MW solar project at the Sheerness Mine and required the development of an all-season access road to allow for the delivery of infrastructure and development of the facility. This access road will also be used for future access for facility operations and maintenance.
Solution
WestMET ERS utilized our heavy equipment fleet currently located at our Sheerness Mine to construct the approved engineer designed access road and ditch. The road was built to comply with the Special Areas rural municipality road design specifications. The road will become part of a legal road plan and registered on the land title. Mine personnel followed all health and safety regulations during construction.
Results
Project was completed on time and on budget. Pace Canada LP was pleased with the road construction as it allows for the future development of the solar farm project.
